Throughout the year we make a wide range of novelty seasonal cakes, starting the year with Easter bunnies and chicks, followed by Halloween “coffins” and giant Spider cakes, then Christmas gingerbread Santa’s and Snowmen and lots, lots more.
During the Christmas period we sell our “special” vine fruit packed mince tarts.
We make our own mincemeat, made to “Nana Lathams” own recipe using only sultanas, currants, raisins, vegetable suet, apples and spices, Demerara sugar and lemons. Only the finest ingredients are used and NO PRESERVATIVES.
The mincemeat is then encased in short crust pastry and baked to perfection.
The mincemeat is made using vegetable suet so they are also suitable for vegetarians.
We also make our own Christmas pudding, again to Nana Lathams own recipe.
These are traditional “figgy puddings” again using only the finest vine fruits, whole natural cherries (no Erythrosine colouring in them) and the finest dried figs.
Our puddings are packed with fruits, hand mixed then steamed for 5 hours and left to mature to allow the flavours to come together, to make a traditional Christmas pudding. Best served hot, flamed with brandy and served with white sauce.
We also make our own fruit Christmas cakes with only the finest vine fruits and marzipan, decorated with royal icing in the traditional style along with our Victoria sponge Christmas cakes for those who prefer a sponge cake.
